Works for public spaces
Studio Vaudou draws on its experience of sculpture and building materials to create a truly inviting and aesthetic place. The projects are built from a well founded and thorough study of the functionality of the place to formulate a coherent and effective proposition. The reflection process brings together imagination and the search for a true coherence between functionality and user-friendliness, in order to achieve an aesthetic which is free of unnecessary noise, and which may also include elements of surprise.
The projects for public spaces started with the desire to move from sculpture, onto the design of a fountain for a neighbourhood. Throughout the process and contacts, the studio then developed a flexible approach to meet municipalities’ other specific needs, such as paving patterns. The pleasure of working for public spaces is bringing life to a place by collaborating with people from very different backgrounds.
